Mobile WBA had a strong turn out at the State tournament this year. It was held in a new center in Birmingham and a good time was had by all. We have not recieved the results yet but hope that some of the home folk get some money back.
Those attending were Pat, Jennifer, Mary Margaret and Karen , Deb, Alice, Carolyn, Stephie and Violetta, Brandy (Deb's niece), Diann, Arlette, Marilyn and Sarah. Nancy Wingo bowled her first State Tournament.
As soon as we get the results back I will post them.

CITY TOURNAMENT
The Mobile WBA held thier 63rd City Tournament the weekend of February 9th & 10th and 16th & 17th at Florida Bowl.
Opening ceremonies where conducted by Brenda Howard, President and Juanita Robinson, V-President. Invocation was done by Peggy Moore and the National Anthem was sung by Aurelia Thomas. Ruth Yanney introduced the Bowling Manager and the Mobile USBC WBA Board of Directors was introduced.
The ceremony was addressed by Reggie Copeland(President Mobile City Council)and Presentation of Color by Blount High School ROTC.
A rememberance ceremony was attended by the family members of Mobile WBA Bowlers who had past away in the previous year and a candle was lite by a family member or friend in rememberance of the bowler. A beautiful performance of Amazing Grace was done by Arienne Thomas on the flute.
The Azalea Trial Maids & members of Mobile ARC officially open the event.
Juanita Robinson threw out the first ball for a strike.
Shirts for sale, gift certificates for Ed's and Oyster House, gift baskets and 50/50 gave everyone the opportunity to walk away with something.
We had good participation with 26+ teams, 52 doubles and and over 90 singles. Th official results will be posted soon.

The Mobile Womens Bowling Association held thier annual Hall of Fame Banquet, Thursday February 7th at Nan Sea Restaurant. This banquet honored 5 members of the association that had made significant contributions to the Association and to the sport of bowling.
The Association recognizes members for Meritorious Service or Superior Performance. Each of these ladies was recognized for Meritorious Service to the Association.
Pat Bordelon
Pat has been a member of the Mobile WBA for 20 yrs. She has served as both Secretary, Vice President and President of the Lane Trotters and the Sunshine Trotters. She is a member of the Lady Civic and Blue Flame and has helped in various capacities on both leagues.
She was elected the the Board of Directors in 2001 and has served on the Finance Committee, the City Tournament Committee, as an Auditor . For the last 2 years she has chaired the Senior Tournament. Pat is also Chair for the telephone committee and has served as the Chair for the Awards Committe for 3 years.
She has bowled in the City Tournament for 10 yrs and gone to Nationals for the last 6yrs. If help is needed , all you have to do is make a phone call and Pat is there.

Nina has been a member of the Mobile WBA for 26 yrs. She helped with the Task Force in 1990, Way and Means and the Watermelon Festival Exhibits . She has helped with 50/50 for the last 13 years and is still active in that endevor. She has bowled in Tournament since 1991.

Margaret has been a member of the Mobile WBA for more than 25 yrs. She helped with the Task Force in 1990, worked the Watermelon Festival and the State Fair. She designed the shirt for the 50th Anniversary and the Shrimp Pin.
She was the league secretary for 15 yrs of the Sky Rockets, Nutty Buddies and the Exiles. She has also served on the Rules Committe and as a Director. She was a recorder for the Exhibit Committee.
Faye McInnis
Faye has been a member of the Mobile WBA for 48 yrs. During that time she organized and has been the secretary/treasurer for the Blue Flame League since 1959. She was elected to the Board of Directors in 2001 and has served as the Chair for Refreshements, served on the nominating committe, the audit committee, the publicity committee, Hall of Fame and Way and Means.
She bowled her first State Tournament in 1960 and has bowled State, Nationals and City since that time. As a Director, she is always ready to lend a hand.
Peggy Moore
Peggy has been a member of the Mobile WBA for 30 yrs. She has been a member of the Board of Directors for 3 yrs and has served as the Sgt at Arms during that time. She has Chaired the Ways and Means Committee, helped with the Senior Tournament, Hall of Fame, Budget and Fiance, Audit , Rules and Publicity Committees. She is always available to do what ever is needed. She has served as the Secretary/Treasure for the Lords and Ladies League for 1 yr and V-President of the Gutter Busters for 2 yrs.
Peggy has been the Lane Representative at Camellia, helped with the City Tournament and does all the innovations for our Board meeting and most of our tournaments. She has been a Delegate to both National and State . She support all the tournaments, State, City , Senior , No Tap and Nationals.
